Born in the area of McDonnel Downs Station in the Northern Territory, Minnie's painting career began when she was in her 70s. Known for spontaneous, lively and colourful painting representing women's ceremonies and bush tucker, particularly the bush melon and bush tomato. Minnie's daughter Barbara Weir is also a successful artist.
